Safety
perception

The rise of social media has effectively engulfed us all providing virtual placements, educational opportunities and infinite entertainment. Unfortunately, due to our dependency on social media cyber crime has become rampant with the rate of cybercrimes increasing every year and women facing the blunt of this issue. A study by the center for strategic and international studies concluded that nearly one percent of global GDP, close to $600 billion, is lost to cybercrime each year. By 2018, 8.5 percent (equivalent to over 1.2 million people) of Dutch internet users aged 12 and over had fallen victim to computer-oriented crime in the previous twelve months. Fortunately, these risks can be avoided. We at the Marise Foundation are actively working towards creating a safe space digitally by spreading awareness. We believe through proper training and awareness programs these crimes can be prevented and punished effectively.

LGBTq
Awareness & Empowerment

Historically, the LGBTQ+ community has been demonized, dehumanized and oppressed. Even today discrimination against the community is rampant in the USA alone lawmakers have proposed 238 bills that would limit the rights of LGBTQ people this year with about half of them targeting transgender people specifically. Fortunately, progression has been undeniable. Increasing number of countries are proposing pro-LGBTQ+ laws with so far as 30 countries legalizing same sex-marriage. As a society we must work towards further advancement. We at the Marise Foundation aim to forward the enhancement of the LGBT community by empowering and educating our society on these issues.

Child
Enhancement

“The youth are our future and they are our hope. We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, but we can at least prepare our children for the future.” The youth are the future, and they will be left with the responsibility of carrying on the success or failure we have created. Educating and empowering our youth ensures the betterment of our world. Unfortunately, globally about 60 million children are not in school and during crisis children are left most vulnerable with the current global pandemic affecting children at an unprecedented scale, making it the worst crisis for children UNICEF has seen in its 75-year history. The Marise foundation aims to help such children receive the education and childhood they deserve by promoting child education around the world.
